I’m going to show you how to make DIY patches you can use to make trendy trucker hats. This tutorial will show you step-by-step how I made faux patches out of heat transfer vinyl.

I love the patch trucker hats that are trending right now. I wanted to make some with my boys they had some requests for patches. I decided to try making my own patches with HTV and love how they turned out!
Supplies:
- Heat Transfer Vinyl ( Amazon.ca link HERE)
- Cotton/ Canvas fabric
- Heatn’Bond Iron-On Adhesive ( Amazon.ca link HERE)

I designed some SVG files with a border to look like embroidered patches. The Border around the design really gives it the patch look. You can find my designs for sale in my Etsy Shop.
Instructions:
- Cut out your design on HTV (around 3 inches is a good size for iron on patches)
- Iron the design onto your fabric.
- Iron Heat n Bond Adhesive onto back of fabric. Leave the paper backing on.
- Cut around the outline of your patch
- Peel the paper off the backing and your patch is done!

We mixed our DIY patches with some patches I bought on Amazon. The hats turned out so cute! The kids loved them. Perfect summer craft activity for kids!
